about me

consulting and coaching for career transitions

About Me

Welcome!

I’m Chloë Benjamin, a career coach, consultant, and your go-to guide for navigating career transitions with clarity and confidence.

By day, I coach Master's of Engineering students at Duke University, helping them bridge the gap between academia and industry. Beyond Duke, I collaborate with organizations, professionals in transition, and students from various backgrounds to turn career uncertainties into opportunities for growth.

My Journey

Before stepping into the world of coaching, I ventured through the realms of tech and publishing—starting at Yack.com, moving on to Google, and later serving as a Senior Knowledge Engineer at an ad-tech startup. While I appreciated the innovation, I discovered my true passion lay in developing people, not just products. This realization propelled me into career coaching and education consulting.
My coaching career took root in 2009 at SEIU UHW Education Fund, where I supported workers affected by layoffs to retrain and transition into new careers. This experience cemented my belief that career changes, while challenging, can be transformative.
Since then, I've provided career coaching at UNC-Chapel Hill, served as an online school counselor at Stanford University, and supported students, schools, and businesses across various contexts. Holding an M.Ed. in School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill, I maintain my license as a school counselor in North Carolina.
After four enriching years in Morocco, I returned to the U.S. in 2019. Living abroad deepened my appreciation for the complexities of identity and reinvention, especially in unfamiliar environments.

What Clients are Saying

"I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate the support you’ve given me during some of my most challenging times. Your kindness made me feel at home, even though I was far away from it. "Thank you" doesn’t feel like enough to express how grateful I truly am. Always just a message/call away." From a Duke alum now working in automotive engineering.

"Here at UNC, there has been no one as supportive as Chloë Ember Benjamin. She is an amazing counselor and friend that I am grateful to have in my life," Yonas K, Student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan Flagler School of Business.

"Ms. Benjamin is a brilliant career coach who knows how to encourage students to explore their best potentials. I had the pleasure of working closely with Ms. Benjamin on the transition from college to the professional world for over a year. I am always in awe of Ms. Benjamin's ability to lead by listening and contribute new values to each meeting. Even during some more challenging moments, Ms. Benjamin always made sure that I left the meeting with a smile." Melody Z, Master's in Accounting Student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

"I am being completely transparent when I say that I have learned more about career planning and job searching through this one-semester long course than I had during three and a half years at Carolina. I heard from so many people who are passionate about their work and bettering students’ experiences at the University. I commend Nadia and Chloe for their hard work all semester and cannot thank them enough for the knowledge they bestowed upon me in a few short months." Course review for a for-credit class I co-taught at UNC.

"Chloe is one of the most sincere, caring individuals I've ever known. My daughter was struggling with her academic schedule and felt overwhelmed. Chloe's counseling got her back on track and motivated again. She is an outstanding counselor and an even better person.." Steve Bandura, Parent of Stanford OHS student.

"
She is considerate, dependable, and truly cares about the well-being of students. Her wide-ranging experience, and creative thinking makes her a pleasure to work with! " Tyler Shores, Stanford University colleague.
